A key member of the Global Medical Affairs team, the Senior Manager, Medical Education and Training will execute a broad range of medical education tactics to educate internal teams and external stakeholders on gene therapy, relevant disease states, and uniQure technology and clinical programs. This individual will be responsible for development of scientific slide decks, field medical tools, educational symposia, and internal training sessions, and will work in close collaboration with program Medical Affairs leads and Medical Communications.

Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities):

  • Deliver external medical education via multiple channels and collaborations to a variety of stakeholders including physicians and patients to address identified knowledge gaps and increase understanding of uniQure gene therapies
  • Lead internal scientific and medical trainings to prepare cross functional colleagues for external interactions with physicians, patients, payers, media, and investor community
  • Create and maintain library of educational slide decks on topics relevant to uniQure’s clinical programs, therapeutic areas, manufacturing, and technology
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive and engaging training to field medical teams, new hires, and executive team members on medical and scientific topics through a variety of in-person and digital mediums
  • Drive review and approval of all externally facing content through the Medical/Legal/Regulatory review process
  • Lead planning and execution of educational non-CME symposia and educational efforts; manage review of CME educational grant requests in accordance with defined educational gaps
  • Plan and execute educational tactics for medical congresses, including medical affairs booth educational content development, symposia planning, and vendor management
  • Manage external vendors and budgets to target

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Advanced degree preferred (PhD or PharmD, Masters in a scientific discipline acceptable with experience)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Pharma/Biotech industry or agency in a Medical Affairs or Medical Writing role
  • Background in Hemophilia or Huntington’s Disease is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent presentation, written, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong time and project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to effectively plan and prioritize work and balance multiple projects
  • Functions well in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking with ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and implement recommendations for resolution
  • Ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate complex scientific concepts
  • Must be fully cognizant and adhere to all regulatory, legal, and compliance standards for Medical Affairs activities, including ICMJE and GPP3 guidelines
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, both US and international
