Due to an increased workload there is an immediate requirement for a Jr. Technician Analytical Development in Amsterdam to join our company. The Analytical Support Team is responsible for planning and executing all routine analytical testing on intermediates and products coming out of R&D manufacturing, ensuring that analytical testing is conducted using established methods, data are documented and reviewed, and results are collected and reported (data management).

The role:

You will be responsible for the routine analytical testing for AAV based intermediates and products to support the whole scope of AAV product development: testing required for Research, Process Development, and Non-Clinical Development. In addition to this early development work need to be performed to set up an analytical methods needed for testing of intermediates and products needed in Research.

Your responsibilities:

Overall, the Junior Technician Analytical Development – Analytical Support should have affinity with (bio-) analytics, as well as with (biotechnological-) processes, and reports to the Analytical Support Lead within AD.
  • To perform routine testing (biological assays and physical/chemical testing) on samples generated during process development
  • Testing raw materials, in-process samples and end products
  • To manage special projects and requests: non-routine testing in R&D
  • To proper documentation of analytical results
  • Planning of analytical work to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Trending of test method performance and updating procedures if needed
  • To generate standard reports of analytical results within the Analytical Development team
  • Participation in troubleshooting analytical methods

You will need:

  • At lease a MLO education in a Life Sciences-related field (biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology) or in (bio)process technology, with affinity for both
  • Some scientific or technological background
  • Strong experience in molecular biology techniques (plasmid purification and analysis, PCR, QPCR, DNA electrophoresis, western blotting, cellular biology techniques (culturing of insect and human cells) and biochemical analyses
  • Experience with virus work is a pre
  • Fluency in English, written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy, to be organized and to be able to plan and execute your own workload, motivated and flexible
  • Strong analytical skills, with some guidance where needed
  • To be pro-active: signal problems, recognize important information, trace possible causes of problems, think about and implement new working methods or new applications, bring forward original solutions for problems related to the department and role
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • To like to work in a high-demanding fast-changing environment
