The Associate Director/US Site IT Lead reports to the Global IT Head. This role is responsible for a group of two professional IT Associates plus contractors (0-3 depending on need) who are engaged for staff augmentation and/or project execution. S/he is responsible for local IT infrastructure and equipment and ensures this operates properly and securely. The US Site Lead builds and maintains relationships with suppliers that provide cost efficient solutions and will add value to the IT infrastructure.

The Associate Director/US Site IT Lead manages and evaluates resource requirements for site specific support requests. S/he develops metrics to measure support activity, client/site satisfaction, trends, and resource allocation as well as interfacing with site Business Partners on a routine basis to understand and ensure support needs are being successfully met.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Administration to define, design, and implement reliable solutions for their information technology needs. Encourage and participate with attendance at project-planning meetings at the site level.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring activities to ensure effective and professional response to client/site needs. Proactively institute measures to develop and build upon the appropriate technical skills necessary to provide up to date and effective Level 2, and in some instances Level 3 support of PC technology, Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and server technologies.
  • Participate with the Operations and Finance teams to implement first ERP system at the Lexington Site.
  • Participate with site business partners in identification, definition, and implementation of systems improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper adherence to standard governance policies and procedures for the site
  • Responsible for risk analysis and management
  • Responsible for specific supplier and contract management
  • Prioritize work and assignments within own organization, with clients, and integration within the global IT organization
  • Manage daily client relationships
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5 - 8 years of progressive experience in hands-on technology roles requiring significant interaction with business or business representatives
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry experience is absolutely required
  • Broad knowledge and strong understanding of IT and technology solutions
  • Demonstrated broad technical awareness coupled with strong business process design skills
  • Experience working on and leading projects requiring the implementation of custom and vendor-supported technology (e.g. CRM, QMS, LMS, DMS, ERP, ELN)
  • Experience with mitigating the risks of working in cloud-based solutions (e.g. O365, Azure)
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience as people manager
  • Experience in a multi-cultural international organization is preferred
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time
